Working with Several Documents


You can switch to a different Word document by:
2. Opening two or more Word documents
2. Clicking on the View Menu
3. Selecting “Switch Windows” Icon
4.  Clicking on the Document you want to work with.



Finding Synonyms
 

Synonyms are different words with identical meanings.
In Word, you can find English Synonyms following these steps:
1. Select the word that you need to find its synonym.
2. Right click on it.
3. On the menu select Synonyms.
4. Select the appropriate word.



Reflection Activity:

  • Which button allows you to change from a document to another?
  • Explain one reason why you could use the synonym feature.
     

​Changing case



Sentence Case: First Word is Capital and Proper nouns are capitalized.
lower case: All words have lower case.
UPPERCASE: All letters in all words have upper case   (Capital letters)
Capitalize Each Word: First letter in all word has upper case (Capital letter)
tOGGLE cASE: First letter in all words has lower case and the rest of the letters are upper
case (Capital letter)

Finding Text
You can find a text in Word using `Find` Icon from Home Menu
1. In the Find What text box, type the text you want to find.
2. While you type, matching text is highlighted in the document.
3. Close the Navigation box when you’re done.

 

Replacing Text

You can find a text in Word using `Replace` Icon from Home Menu
1. In the Find What text box, type the text you want to find.
2. In the Replace with text box, type the text you want to replace it with.
3. Click on Replace or Replace All.
